Smallest Grips For S & W 15-2?
To assist in better concealed carry, who makes the smallest grips you can get for the S & W 15-2, .38, square butt?

I suppose you might find some pre-war service style grips that would be thinner than those PC magnas, but I'm not sure how much you would gain.

Uncle Mike's boot grips are slimmer, with finger grooves. Fit my hand great.

You can try posting a Wanted to Buy ad:
http://smith-wessonforum.com/wanted-buy/
Not that it makes a difference, but the gun in your photo is not a model 15-2 - unpinned barrel. It must be a later 15-4.

To assist better in concealed carry, the smallest grips may not be the answer. They might, but where are you printing? Why? Is it your holster that is the problem? Or your placement of the holster? Or the cut of your cover garment?
Also, what do you mean by smallest? Least volume? Shortest? Thinnest?
I have a 2" Model 15 for which I find Rogers/Safariland grips the best for my hand, and fine for concealment. They are fairly long, but thin, and do not print when I'm wearing a suit. Stock grips, or stock stocks, as some would say, would cerainly not be an improvement, and probably worse.
Get your cover garment and a mirror, or perhaps your wife or a friend, and start looking for where your problem really lies. It may even be the grips.

I've never understood why S&W just didn't make the 2" Model 15s with a round butt. It would have been much better. I've never seen or even heard of one. All are square butts.
I think what you have are about as good as its gonna get. I added a Tyler T grip to mine and find that it works just fine.
If you can find a set, the old Uncle Mikes boot grips are my favorites. But those are long out of production and getting very hard to find. The last set I got I found through a WTB ad here in the forum classifieds. But that was several years ago.
You might get a set of the Craig Spegal wood grips which the Uncle Mikes were patterned after. But they would have to be found used as Spegal is currently backed up with a two year wait and they ain't cheap.
Another option would be to have a gunsmith round butt your gun. That would open up some better grip options, but IMHO would also hurt its value.
Here's what works for me:

Are the older Model 12 (or before 1958 the .38 M&P Airweight)
grips thinner than other K-frame grips? Seems I read that here. If
so, will they fit onto a steel K-frame?

Model 12 grips up until the 12-4 are indeed thinner but wouldn't fit a regular K frame. There would be a gap between grip and frame.

Another, nicer looking possibility might be Ahrends Boot Grips, like these, in your choice of wood or finish, , of course,

You can’t get any smaller than factory magnas, with or without a Tyler T, but I like the feel of these from John Hurst.

This.
If you don’t want to wait for Tyler, go with a BK adapter.
If I were going that route, I’d pick up a beater set of magnas then slim them down & round the edges on a sander.

My Model 10-7 SB snub has the factory magna grips w/a grip adapter but I don’t see how anything would be smaller or conceal better. I agree that holster/belt choice is what’s most important.

Yeah, I had not taken such a close look, since I was not buying.
The Ahrends grips extend forward toward the trigger guard by a few millimeters, and down by a few millimeters, but they are thinner than the Factory magnas. The K frame at the bottom of the butt with standard stocks is 1.6"/40mm thick at the bottom. With PC magnas, 1.4"/36mm. It is only 1.2" or 31.5mm thick with the Ahrends grips I posted.
Ahrends: 1.2"/31mm
PC Magnas: 1.4"/36mm
S Magnas: 1.6"/40mm

I have a set of K frame magnas in my drawer that someone sanded most of the checkering off. It just barely shows. Yours for the shipping.

For me concealed carry grips are not so much about small as they are about thin , hard and smooth. Rubber is too stickey.
I know it's round butt but my old beat around mod. 66 got HO-Maid micarta and a Tyler.
Not real pleasant to shoot, but it's not a range gun.
For a square butt you may want to look at VZ grips.
Here are some on a mod.67. Being micarta they can be reduced to whatever size you want them to be.

Magnas and a BK Grip is my go-to for concealment on every model of S&W revolver.
I have not found a set of boot grips I like as much.

I like my K frame grips small also. These are available as original S&W Hand Ejector Stocks or as reproductions. I don't remember where I got these grips but I know it was a long time ago.

Those low-top Magnas are my absolute favs as well. They are tough to find for all models, though.
Forum member "bigmtnman" sells lovely stag grips, and I'm sure he'd make you a set for your M15.
Altamont makes them for J/K/L/N round butt and N square butt, but they are out of stock on most of them.
These are Altamonts on my M629 that I carry frequently.

I love these "Vintage" boot grips I purchased from another Forum member a while back. They fit my hand perfectly. Thinner toward the bottom, they don't cause much if any of a "print," or whatever the cool kids call it.
