That is a nice early model 66. The SS sights are a dead giveaway as to being a first run gun. They eliminated the SS sights shortly after introduction.

66 no dash
Yeah it's a 1971 model, they stopped making them after that because they used a harder Stainless and it was eating up too many bits and the sights were especially hard on them

They do make a nice set together, don’t they?
My 6” barreled pair are separated by 20 years (M19-4, M66-5)

Stainless sights aren't exactly rare, they used them until 1974. They are awful in certain conditions so many were swapped out.

As were mine, along with a CCH TT and TH. This is the most accurate handgun I own. Circa 1976. I carried a twin of this one for the majority of my LEO time but this one is more accurate due to a trigger job from the previous owner. He really knew what he was doing.
