Default Model 19-3 typical example

With all the increased interest/prices in the past year for the Model 19, I thought I’d share my example. Perhaps there are some of you out there who are hunting for one, or just want to see some pics of what a 19 package from the late 60s looks like.

Maybe of interest is the box and label, or possibly the high polish blue, or those crazy comfortable target stocks. I am no expert on the nuances of the 19, but I will tell ya that at the 100 yard range I can occasionally hit pie plates with a one hand standing hold. I’m shooting .38 handloads. Yes, the trigger is that good. Yes, the 4” version is that well balanced. No, I’m not an expert pistol shot.

I keep a list of all my “not gonna sell this one” guns so Wifey knows exactly who gets what. Someday this 19 will live on with a trusted and close relative.

Thanks all, this forum is a great hangout.

Beautiful Model 19 bigmoose. Considering how many Model 19's were made, I was surprised that it took me a long time to find one for sale here in California. I wanted a dash 3 or earlier only. I finally found this one at a gun show about 5 years ago. It was 15 minutes after the gates opened. I didn't hesitate because I knew if I walked around and came back it would be gone.

Beautiful 19, and the stocks look fantastic! From what I can tell anyways. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

My first handgun was the 6" Model 19 in nickel....I completed this trio just last year.

The 6" goes to my heirs forever.

I came close to wearing out a 4” Model 19 using it for both duty and shooting with the pistol team. Later I bought a replacement with target featgghhñnn "
