My Grail gun...
Not exactly a lofty goal compared to you true collectors, but I’m really excited about it. Ya’ll May recall one of my first posts regarding refinishing my 19-3 after spending 2 weeks under water after Hurricane Katrina. Well, I decided to keep it the way it is and Let it tell the story, and find another.
Was able to find the condition/price ratio I was seeking. Model 19-3. Thanks to those that responded to my “WTB” post.

I’m glad that you found what you were looking for and I think the dash-3 is a fantastic variant of the legendary Model 19.
I would caution you on your use of the term “grail gun” however!
Hey, any one of us obviously gets the freedom to choose a grail gun, but to do justice to the term, you kind of paint yourself in to a corner. You are almost using a long-used gun crank term to tell the world that you have no plans to ever chase another gun that might define your collection!

I wouldn’t say grail gun but your up one step up the stairs on another good find. One grail down what’s next?
Everytime I start to think about what I’d like to get my list grows.

Its your grail gun and that's all that counts.
Congrats on a very nice one at that.

I am actually done...until I'm not.
That well worn 19 in the photo is the first .357 I shot as a teenager, or even younger. It found it's way into my possession after it was a submarine...LOL.
...and this "new" 19 is in much better condition than I expected. So, I'm pretty happy. I've been incredibly lucky regarding handgun purchases online. 1 was a bit disappointing, 1 was as expected, but 2 were better than I had hoped.

Very happy you found what you like and wanted.
My friend from childhood has the same one and packs it, legally, on all hunting and fishing trips.
May it serve you well; enjoy, responsibly.

Nothing wrong with calling a 19-3 a grail gun at all. I had a 19-4 for 20 years and it was my favorite pistol.

My original grail gun was a K22 which I was able to procure from Cabela's in Reno quite a while back. Now it's a 625 with 5" barrel in .45 Colt. Very hard to come by but one will show up one of these days. Here's a picture of my K22 (1947) which now sports a set of Culina targets, it had some real ugly after market grips when I got it.

congrats on your grail find. that's a very good looking revolver. the Smith&Wesson fever has only been diagnosed in me for a couple years.
in that time i have been very fortunate to acquire revolvers that fit the grail classification for me. found my 27 and my birth year 14 and quite a few others.
like most infected with this fever i will keep looking for a triple lock, registered magnum and any others i don't have. a i am very thankful of the ones i have found. kenny

I passed on a 38/44 not knowing what it was. Do I need a m19?
There’s something about that being called a K38 Combat Masterpiece.?
A k38 Target masterpiece? A k22 masterpiece target?

The 19 is a Combat Magnum.
The 15 is a Combat Masterpiece

It isn't just your opinion, it's a fact. I think I have about a dozen.

I have a pre-15 and a pre-14. My online dealer had many 22 revolvers but there priced through the roof. Hard to get a decent price on colts and s&w’s.
