Model 37 pinto
Hey everyone. I have a 1967 model 37 that my uncle is giving me. It’s ok to, has the box and factory letter.
Rated as 99%. Does anyone have a value?
Thank you!

Model 37 pinto
Ok. By the views and no responses I had to look back and clarify my error. This is a model 37 pinto. It has the factory kettle and box dates to the gun. What type of value would be on this? It’s collector quality, deep checkering on grips, not hardly a turn line at all, bluing is 99%.....
I’m curious is all, thanks!

Photos would help the many experts here to give you an idea. I’m not one of them. Also the serial number would help.

Can't decipher this. Bet it's something obvious, but...

Based on the information provided, including the fact that it has a "factory kettle", I am going to value it as somewhere between $1 and $10,000.
Pics and SN would go a long way towards narrowing it down.

How embarrassing. I shouldn’t post while on a phone, clearly. I can get pics later.
Serial is 408175
Thanks for the patience during my lapses in quality grammar......factory Letter is obviously what I attempted to type earlier.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the laughs guys. I deserved it haha. Just wanted an idea of what I was going to have when my Uncle gifts me this pinto. the Letter states 1967 delivery date, it's pristine condition. I do not have it in my hands yet for photos. Round Butt, original grips. Letter shows it was delivered as a Pinto.
I appreciate this Forum very much as I've leaned on it waaay more than I've been able to contribute back, for that I am grateful. I hope everyone has a great day.

I would guess somewhere between 750-1000 depending on what the letter shows. This is assuming that it is 100% legit, NIB.

Good morning! As you have noted, folks here like to tease a lot......
It is really tough for anyone to estimate value without seeing photos of the gun, box, contents, and letter (specifically the shipping information). Some have said 750 to 1000, and that might be a good guess. I usually estimate value based on what I would be willing to pay, which for your pretty little bit of jewelry might go like this:
650 or less, I'd probably break my arm getting my wallet out
750 to 850 would be a "I gotta think about it, but probably"
850 to 900, "Purty gun, but....."
900 or up "Uh, do you have a CS1 for sale?"
But that's just me.....

I had no idea it would bring THAT....
so back to what my late Dad would say "it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it". Thanks everyone for ALL the help. I am fortunate to say the least for the opportunity to possess such a classic collector. I will post pics once I have my hands on it. I remember joining this forum a few years back and have watched many conversations and developed a true love of the Smith wheel guns. I couldn't imagine the 2A without them. Thanks!

Your Dad was a wise man.
Here's an interesting note from studying my database: I show four two-tone Model 37s, all within 2,000 numbers from the same era as yours, yours being the highest serial number of the four. Seems as though S&W whipped up a batch of them.
The one I shared the auction is the only one I've seen "sell" so I can't make a guess about value of the next one that might go on the auction block.
From watching Chiefs sell on the auctions it seems that if one oddball sells for $x.xx the next one like it might go for half or double the first one. There's no rhyme or reason sometimes.
Enjoy yours. It's a beauty, I'm sure. Will you consider sharing Roy's letter when you get it? Sometimes the parts of Roy's letters that explain a particular model's history is most interesting. Perhaps there will be a comment about the "batch" of those two-tones.

I'm thinking $2000, give or take a hundred or two.

Thank you to everyone for the input. This will definitely go into the safe for long term. Too beautiful for live fire. Unique for sure. Happy Monday!
