Default Range Day - first time firing these four!

Well I’m off from work so called my brother to see if he wanted to go to the local range today. I bought these over the past year except the 19 which has been a safe queen. Life is too short so decided to shoot these all the first time for me at least.
19-5
38/44 from 1930 shipped to my home town police department
15-4
66-1

We reloaded a bunch of 158 grain SWC last weekend so we have plenty to play with. Happy range day!

What could be better , a day off PLUS going to the range ! Lately my range buddy and I have been shooting a lot of 38/357 . What's not to like ? Lower power 38 or step up to 357 .

One of my buddies here scored me a Coonan 357 semi-auto . You want to have fun with 357 , get yourself one of those . Have a fun day and give us a range report , especially on that 38/44 .

Default 38/44 and 66-1

Wow I did better with the snub 66 and that old 38/44.
The 19-5 was all over the place at 50’ timed target but I was on paper. My brother is a better shot. I haven’t shot since last Winter.
The 15-4 was horrible - these old eyes could not see the front sight at all in the lighting at our range - have to figure something out on those
66-1 I had several in the black also 50’
The 38/44 in double action I did well for the first time
The trigger takes forever to get there and the sights are non existent but had a blast shooting a 90 year old revolver and got three in the black at 50’

That really sounds like a lot of fun! I just retired end of March. Luckily, I had all my paperwork, etc., done previous to the cootie virus. Only problem, I've acquired 8, I believe, new to me (2 Brand new) firearms and I was asleep at the wheel, so to speak, with the wave of ammo evaporation. I don't reload, but my main ammo is 9mm and .38 Spl., all readily available all the time. I've heard primers aren't really available that much for reloaders, so whatever. Enjoy your shooting!

Had a nickle 38/44 when I was a teenager... of course traded it off (we are talking late 1970s.) Same happened to my 4 inch 19-3, factory round butt!! Traded it off. I think I still have a 15 somewhere in the safe.

And I still have my 66-1 snub though I got maybe 35 years ago!!

Yea I bet it was fun shooting those guns. I still practice with my 640 .38 spl I got when CHL first came to Texas.

Yea we all need to get them out now and then and shoot 'em!

Excellent! Now I'm tempted to shoot my 1931 .38/44!
