One of Russ Smith's best...photo added
Model 29-2, custom engraved and inlaid with gold, for Keith Perks, Owner of Springfield Firearms, Cornwall, England. Mr. Perks was the S&W distributor for England. When handgun ownership was made illegal, he was able to send many of his guns to Bill Orr, S&WCA member and well known collector. Mr. Orr owned G. T. Distributors, a police supply company, and was able to receive and sell the unique firearms owned and "saved" by Mr. Perks. I purchased this 44 Magnum, S253701, shipped on November 11, 1965 about twenty-five years ago from my good friend, Ray Brazille. Ray told me at the time, and I have confirmed, factory engraved and gold inlaid revolvers are quite rare. The stocks were hand selected by a production foreman and carved by Mr. Smith.
Click on the photos for a much better look (photos by Paul Goodwin).

How's it shoot,....wink, wink,.......
That is a masterpiece! I know nothing about engraving, but looking at that craftsmanship makes one wonder how much time was involved in that piece of art. Thank you for sharing the picture. I would love to see more of it.

Great gun! I Like the gold wire inlay and carved stocks. Definitely some of Russ Smith’s top work.
