Smith &Wesson 29-2
I have a Smith&Wesson 29-2 that I am contemplating selling. The strange thing is that the name has been double stamped on the barrel. I would assume that it would be very rare for a mistake of that nature to actually have made it out of factory. Has any one else seen this on any other Smith&Wesson handguns? The gun itself is in beautiful condition and it is complete with the wood box, cleaning tools, and paperwork. The clamshell has seen better days but other than that there isn’t much to complain about. I’m to emotionally attached to this piece to be subjective on value can anyone give ma some idea where to start. Thanks

Difficult:
-Some love long tubes but in general they bring less than 6'' and 4''
-That mistake roll mark? Really don't know how to price that. Maybe a factory letter can shed a bit more light?
-The market is overheating and everything with a hole in the front sells.
_Condition looks very fine.
-Long story short I think
$1500 is too high
$1200 about right
$900 a good deal
again flying blind here a bit on that roll mark, I deducted a little for it. Don't think there is a chance for a premium on something like that.

No, never saw such a flaw as that.
I think member Doc44, the 44 Mag guru, is the one to PM on that one.

That should never have been allowed out of the factory. Unlike coins and stamps collectors don't may more for guns with mistakes in markings.

The longer the barrel the lower the value on the market.

Out here $1000 would be about right. $1500, You'll have it a long time.
