MODEL 29-6 CLASSIC
Finally shot newly acquired MODEL 29-6 CLASSIC with .44spl last weekend. SMOOTH as OILED GLASS. Both 18 yo son and I were keyholing target at 15 yards. Will take it big range on the ranch for Magnum rounds later. Gun is clean and locks up well. Pictures below.

I have the same gun. Only

White tail deer with it.

Those were made at a time when manufacturing technology paired well with some old school gunmaking to produce some very good and typically accurate S&W revolvers. The 5" examples are fairly scarce.

I forgot to mention , it is 5” model. But you experienced collectors could see that from picture.

SHOT 44MAG ROUNDS in 29-6 CLASSIC 5"
As promised reporting back on shooting 44 MAG rounds with 29-6 CLASSIC . Range was 20 yards, one BULLSEYE , a few 9s, a couple of 8s and a couple of flyers in the 7 ring. Been awhile since I shot magnum rounds .
I had gunsmith check trigger pull on all my Model 29s. They all came in a touch under 4#. Does anyone know what the factory specified trigger pull was from 1960-1980?
