Default S&W model 30 2"?

Local shop has a blue mod 30 2" P&R not a flat latch. Looks to be very clean but not time to really look it over. Priced at $350. with sales tax it would be $ 400 OTD. Yes or no as to a buy? thanks

Might be P, Definitely NOT R. No Model 30s had recessed chambers.
Yes, that sounds like a decent price in today's market if you're looking for one. They don't turn up often.

Not a bad price at all. Is it a no dash? The 30-1 is actually a better shooter and more desirable to a few people.

I would have been all over that. a 2" Mod 30 is a really nice piece. One I recently sold ( a 3" 30-1) brought over $900.

If a 3" I would have grabbed it for sure without a second thought. They have and do bring more $.

To me, a 3” 30-1 is the best variant. I passed on a shooter grade a few years ago for about $350 and now kick myself.

If nothing is amiss, or it has a 1/2 round front sight; w/o a flat latch, it has to be a J frame, therefore a Model 30-1 (even if the -1 is not stamped).

And yes, buy, buy, buy!
