More Nice 3" J-Frames
I don't know what is going on around here but people seem to be selling off their 3" J-frames. I picked up two more this week end, One a flat latch nickel 36 (707xxx), and the other a blue 37 (1J30xxx). Both are really nice examples with original stocks. Some day I will put all these new to me I's and J's (38's & 22's) in a group picture.

Wow.
Both are very nice, congratulations.
I'm especially taken by the 3" nickel with the 707xxx serial number. I've seen others with a diamond grip from that era, but that's really, really late for the flat latch.

Forum member weatherby passed these banana grips along to me last week. For now they are on my 3 inch 36-1. Enjoy.

I sure like 3" ~ J Frame guns. I've owned quite a few over the years but am now down to a 31-1 and a 36-1, in a custom (maple leaf carved) holster I made.

The nickel flat latch is a stunner!
But it's a .32 Mod 30 New I frame.

I like 3" J frames also. Particularly square butt models.
Here is my 36-1.

I've only got one 3" barrel J Frame; a Model 36. The first women to join my department as Police Officers (i.e. New South Wales Police Force) were issued these revolvers which they would carry in their department supplied handbags. Also, Commisioned Officers were allowed to be issued these Smiths.

I'll be darned. I guess I was so taken back by it's condition I did not notice. Bad on me. Well maybe not so much. My partner who sold it to me said 36 and with out my glasses it looked like 36 on the frame. I just gave him the money and put it away. I think I would have noticed if I tried to put a .38 round in it. or maybe if I had just read the mark on the side of the barrel, OR looked at the bore and chambers. My other excuse, and it's a good one, it was a very busy and hectic show. I hope my friend will not be too disappointed when I tell him. Thanks Hondo. These things happen with a novice collector like me.

One of the most accurate Smith & Wessons I have is a 3" Model 60-4 I bought new in the early 90"s. Stock grips on it. Funny thing though; it is more accurate with semi-wadcutters than with wadcutters. Never have figured that one out.
