10-5 2" price check
Local pawn has a nice 10-5 Snubby with incorrect stocks. I have plenty of correct ones at home. Its wearing Pachmeyers. Anyway they want $499 and will only go as low as $475. Based on S/N gun was made in 1969/1970. Mechanics are fine and finish is very good to excellent. $475 with incorrect stocks seems high to me.
Am I being unrealistic or is that high?

Not too high nowadays.
Let it sit and go back in a week to see it again.
Concealable stuff is hot right now, bet it's gone...

In today's environment, that is probably a $600 gun. They're asking $35-40 per box for the ammo.

Price seems about normal in todays market for guns. If you want it buy it. It will probably be gone in a weeks time.

Square or round butt? Either way that's a really good deal nowadays.

I was looking at a less common nickel-plated round-butt with original grips on it and in excellent shape almost 3 weeks ago. It was priced at $549, and they wouldn't budge. I went back last week and I was kinda' surprised that it was still there, but I'm thinking that when I next stop in it will almost certainly be gone. I just can't bring myself to pay that kind of price with no box or anything.

Looks like they took off $25 for not having original grips. If the purpose of the Model 10 2" is concealed carry and not a safe queen $475 is a good deal. Replace the grips with whatever suits you and you are good to go. Agree with the other respondents, it ain't going to be there a week from now. If in doubt check the recent completed auction selling prices of Model 10 2" on GB.

This whole price thing is easy.
If you want it bad enough and you have the $$$, get it.
The only "real" way to tell if it's too high-priced for your local market is to wait and see if someone else buys it - but then, you ain't got it, now do ya?!?!?
I don't ask if something is priced "too high" on any forum because we have hundreds of local markets here in the US and what's a "Great price" here in Phoenix might be a "Ugh, why did you spend so much?" in Memphis. Now, that's not to say anything bad about anyone's expertise in any other area (God Bless you guys, you're an incredible bunch) but when it comes to price, I'll trust my own instincts, thank you.

When will you see another one? I spent a fair amount of time looking for a 2" Model 10, with no luck. I wanted a "shooter" but not necessarily a "truck gun." I eventually found a 4 screw, 2" with a rough finish but great fit and lock-up. Spent $$$$ to have it hard chromed, smooth the trigger face, bevel the hammer, round the butt and an action job. Toss on VZ grips and I now have what I want. I don't think it will be long before 800-1000 dollar Model 10's are the norm. I say buy it.

Given that it is a 2 inch barrel, not too high at all, especially in today's market for any firearm that would be good for defensive use.

Just remember, you are dealing with a pawn shop so they have 50% of asking price invested in the gun. Offer $400 cash out the door with money on the counter and see if they will back away from that.

I just bought what I had wanted for years and could never find. Well, I just found my 2" M64-2, rubber grips, but in nice overall condition. I did a thorough cleaning after receiving it, and actually found a new set of magnas in my shop that fit it perfectly. I'm a happy camper, all for the sum of $550 plus freight. I might have paid too much, below average cost, or just the average cost now, but I have it and that is what counts.
