Default numbered grips

I have come across a pair of k frame grips, not sure of the proper name. They are rounded bottom wood numbered 233834. Does anyone have a clue as to when and for what they may have been made?

They are Plain Clothes Magna stocks (often abbreviated PC Magna), also called "Modified Magna" stocks, which I believe was the factory name for them.

As weatherby noted, they cannot be from 1955. Most likely they came on a gun with a D prefix, so that would put them in the 1969-70 range. C233xxx would have probably been from 1953, but without the diamond that is not possible.

This style was used on fixed sight K frame guns and on the Model 15, when it was fitted with a 2" barrel.

Default PC grips

These are known as "PC" grips...probably for a Model 10 or Model 13..."PC" stands for "plain clothes" as they are rounded smooth on bottom so there is no snagging on clothes when the revolver is pulled out...hope this helps...Roger
