Default J frame grips

I'm looking on line at Pachmayr

Gripper Grips #03249 and

Diamond Pro #02478
I can't get a response from Lyman/Pachmayr
The question is, which grip is physically larger?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard.

That's frustrating! I'd order both and return one after your comparison. Lyman is good about returns.

Yea, it's kind of weird. Their customer service phone message says that because of covid, they have 3 employees working from home, and lists their phone #'s.
1 number auto hangs up, and the other 2 don't return calls.

I can answer your question since I have both.
The Diamond Pros are larger in girth and the Grippers are narrower, but a little larger measured back to front.

The Diamond Pro is the one where you have to remove the pin from your frame, right? And replace it if you want to switch to anything else? I liked the feel of the grips but hated messing with the pin to try different things.

I later got a set of Pachmayr Compac Presentation grips, and liked them better than the Diamond Pro. And the pin stays put.

Last time I checked on grippers, there were two choices - the Professional Gripper, and just the Gripper. May have been for K frames; as it has been a spell, but the Professional Gripper was a bit smaller in circumference and the back of the grip was flush with the back frame strap; the regular Gripper covered the back strap. The Professional fit my hand better.

How about the height/length?
