Est. value pre 27
I know little of the pre 27 value/worth. I am considering a blued 3 1/2" pre 27 that is about 95+. Just the gun. Grips alleged to be original. Ser. # S96+++. I have no pics. Can someone help me with their opinion/knowledge of an estimated value. Thanks.

All anyone can do is guess. A 95% gun is not the pristine example with box that gets big money from collectors. It's a high end shooter. The 3.5" 357 is very desirable. Were I trying to sell I would put it on Gunbroker with a $1,000 start price. Can always lower it if it doesn't move. But I think it would bring around $1,100 or so. But that's just a guess.

I just sold this 3 1/2" Pre 27 recently for $1500. I'd judge it at low 90's %.
It sure shot well and was smooth as silk.

I think somewhere between $1400 and $2000, depending on condition and original box, docs, and tools. Much more for LNIB.

Actually, my partner sold it for $2600 and I let him have it for $2300. It was beautiful gun. This was in our retail store not an auction.

I sold this one from 1955 about 6 months ago. It had only been fired a hand full of times and it sold for $3500.00

It would be helpful to know the asking price. It has been a long time since I have seen one for sale in person, but it was pretty high at the time. I think early 50s .357 3 1/2 inch Smiths are sought after. I would say to just buy it unless the price was outrageous!
