64 no dash 4" numbers made?
I bought a 64 no dash 4" tapered barrel today with box. It is not in my hands yet. I know, or at least I think I know that the tapered barrel was made only the first year. Is there any estimate of how many were produced? I also bought a 2" 64 off GB. I might of p'od someone here because I hit the BIN option with some heavy bidding going on. I'm on the lookout for a heavy barrel 4" and a 3"

The original 4” model 64 was made for about 3 years. They were mixed in with other D prefix serial numbers so total production is not known, but likely in the multiple tens of thousands or more.

Yes. Mine shipped in 1972; the model was introduced in 1970. Mine bears a serial number in the D425xxx range.

Mine is in the D612xxx range, so there must be a fair number

That serial number corresponds to 1972~73. Most likely shipped in 1973.
