As far as I know, only on the Models 29 and 57. I suppose later on they could be purchased aftermarket because I’ve seen them on a lot of Model 27s. Years will have to be left to answer by someone who actually knows something.

I believe the “Special Oversize” Goncalo Alves Stocks were only standard on these two models.

.44 Magnum through 29-2, up to about 1966-7.
Model 57, introduction (1964) to about 1966-7.
They were available as an accessory and special order option.

I'm a big believer in the "any stocks that fit are correct" philosophy.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate the link.

"1956 – 1968: Checkered Diamond; Enlarged Checkered Space and slight palm swell (loosely resembling curves of a Coke bottle…nick named by collectors “Cokes”) Available on .44 Magnum Revolvers and .41 Magnum revolvers. Commonly found in more exotic wood such as Goncalo Alves (Rosewood Very Rare)"

They were optional on the Model 27.

This one shipped with magnas, but they were long gone when it entered my corral. However, I do like these well used, repaired (several times) and refinished cokes on this shooter grade .357.

... actually I like cokes on just about any N-Frame, and I love the way they fit my hand.

Compared to the others you post pictured of I can understand why you call this pristine .357 a shooter.

Kenny - it looks better in those glamour photos than in real life. It has quite a bit of holster wear and it has been shot... a bunch. With all that said, it is a nice shooter-grade gun, and way fun to shoot. It is my 3.5" shooter that allows me to keep other more pristine 3.5" guns ... still pristine.

I have not ordered a letter, but they were on it when I bought it and the "outline" of the grips on the frame makes me believe they have been there a long time.

Some of my guns look better in their photos too but we'll keep this just between you and me.

These have been on this Model 58 since 1964 which I believe makes them the correct stocks for the gun.

Shooter grade eh? Why that thing is practically worn out! Beautiful revolver as usual Richard.
