Default I need no help, I have my M15 addiction under control

I only over payed a little for this 1972-ish snubby. I am very happy so far, range time on Tuesday. Thanks for letting me share my excitement here.

Over paid? Never! Just bought a few weeks early. Let us know it shoots.

15 snubbies are an amazing thing. Very under rated, very difficult to find in reasonable condition. I regret having sold the only one I had. Have not found a replacement. Congratulations, shoot her in good health.

Overpaying seems to be the new norm nowadays if one wants a quality old Smith. A fine choice!! Great looking gun. Enjoy.

The only help I need in my addiction is finding more 2" M15's or Combat Masterpieces in good condition and affordable...My small accumulation includes two 4" in the box, one of which I'm sure is unfired...My carry piece below has had non-original but period correct S&W target grips added since the pic was taken...Still recovering at home from Covid 19 hospitalization, so no new pics, sorry......Ben

I only have the one, but I love it. Got it cheap as the PO had cut the front sight and bobbed the hammer. Finish was trashed as well. Had it smoothed over, a new sight installed, and hard chromed.

Very nice to shoot. Hope to pick up one in more original condition one day.

If you have the opportunity to grab a 15 snub at a price you don't have a problem with, it's a must buy in my book.

Nice piece. Very accurate, according to several Metro-Dade detectives I worked with. In the days before semi autos. Good luck at the range.

Nice score!
Op, what’s a little too much, perhaps you did good.

I’d still like to find a nice 2” nickel to go with my dash 2 and 4.

Gunsnrovers. Outstanding! Bobbed hammer, fiber optic front, and what looks like Treasury issue 158gr+p LSWHP. Very old school and cool.

You have good reason to be excited. The M15 is one of S&W's finest efforts. I am rather fond of them myself. I think I have 4, and just bought a M67. I seem to be collecting them, M28's and I just discovered 4" M629's

Default I'm having too much fun for not having shot it yet (?)

Thank you all for the positive comments. Before I went to work today I looked longer and harder at this new to me piece.

I had it on wishlist at Simpson Ltd for more than a year. I called Floyd and tried to get it for less than list, but he said it was a consignment and the price was the price. He had the piece in his hand and I detected surprise in his voice regarding its condition. One of my favorite handguns to shoot is my 1954 pre-15 Combat Master. So, since its price, $1000.00, had not changed for over a year and given our current situation its almost like it has come down in price (rationalizing?).

I am a shooter. I will shoot and enjoy this revolver, but my Honey, who also shoots is almost reluctant. Why? It was not advertised as unfired, but.......

Default A Range Report

The 1972 M15 did not go alone; it was accompanied by a 1944 M29, a 1974-ish M28 and a 2020 RAMI. To say it exceeded expectations would be both cliched and correct. Best DA pull in my collection. It is sweet! Really, only the Swiss M29 could out shoot it. The first target is mine at 5 and 7 yards, I needed to tighten up a bit. The second target is Honey's at 7 yards. She loves its "like new" condition and did not want to shoot it too much. More than pleased.

She is! I've been lucky enough to be with her for 33 years. She started shooting five years ago and has been competing for three years. I have been shooting off and on for over fifty years and I have only out shot her once, by few points, in last August's Garand Match state championship. I've gratefully lead a fairly charmed life .
