Default I Like .32's

New to me Model 30-1 2" on the way to compliment my 4" 31-1.
Serial number is 796XXX, which seller believes to be 1971, but I think it must be earlier since H prefix began in 1969. Should be in my hands early next week. Time to load even more .32 S&W Long ammo.

Nice indeed. Sometimes I wish my late ‘40s vintage 32 HE snub had the later ramp sight like yours instead of the half moon... much easier on my old eyes. Regardless, just like you “I like 32s.”

Agree with earlier, '68/'69. This one is 816XXX from the same timeframe.

You're right, 1969. A factory letter might show it actually shipped later, as a 'late shipper', but definitely from the 1969 era.

Unhappy pre- model 30, .32 S&W long, 4 inch factory nickel

Absolutely mint, all matching #'s EXCEPT, a bubba job on the hammer: wider spur was added....and once again, please excuse my poor photographic skills.

I am a 32aholic....i really like them...i have them from 32 Bicycle safety hammerless to a K32 . Fun to shoot. Great for getting kids started on center fire handguns, great for old wives to shoot..and just as well made as the big guns...

They made those with 4" barrels also but I'm guessing not very many as I never see any for sale. I have one but when I bought it I wasn't really looking for a 4", just worked out that way. Now I wouldn't trade it for any other 32 except maybe a model 16. Fat chance of that happening.

I have the itch to put a few down range with this
little .32.
Somewhat hesitant....as I am not sure it's been fired.
1975 Colt Cobra.

Here is the stable mate of the incoming 30-1, my 31-1 4":

And the 31-1 in its new Simply Rugged holster:

Mine looks just like that except I don't have that excellent holster.

Looks like it could be worn as RH cross draw if so desired.

It is a lefty holster, just like it's owner.

I do, however, sometimes wear these Simply Rugged pancakes (I pretty much buy one from Rob for each acquisition) on the right hand side in a cross draw while driving.

The 30-1 arrived today. Wow. It is pristine, and I don't think it was ever shot outside of the factory. Almost like a time capsule dug up from 1968-69.

I did make one modification, and installed a set of faux ivory Altamont combat stocks with laser etched S&W logo. The off white contrasts very well with the old school blueing, and those stocks fit better than the stock magnas in my mitts.
