Default Need some help with a couple model 27s

Guy here oically has a pre model 27 3.5 inch for 1500.00. Has some holster wear

Same guy has a 27-2 3.5 inch that is in desperate need of a reblue. Hes asking 950.00

My question is im kind of interested in the -2 because I can afford it. But after sending it for a reblue and finding a good set of grips. How much would I be into the gun?.. would the cost be justified. And would the gun bring good money in the future knowing it had been reblued??.. thanks for the help

"But after sending it for a reblue and finding a good set of grips. How much would I be into the gun?"

Add about $400.00-600.00

"would the cost be justified.

If you wanted to do it, I would say so.

"And would the gun bring good money in the future knowing it had been reblued??"

Very unlikely.

I'd be more concerned with the condition mechanically than with the need for a re-finish. If your intent is to use the gun, meaning carry it some, shoot it some, I might be willing to pay $950 for it if the blue loss is from carrying much but shooting little, but I wouldn't put more in to it for a re-finish. Better to pay the $1500 for the pre-27. That one, even with a little wear showing, will continue to increase in value and you can still shoot it. You'll have almost as much in a refinished -2 and the value to most of us will be less. Good luck.

Well after texting with him more. He apparently likes them more than I do.. he said he has 4 of the 3.5s but the one I thought was in horrible condition for 950 is actually the better condition one for 1500.00. I would love to have one. But not that much. He also has a super clean pre 27 3.5 inch that he said left the factory as a 6 inch gun but was sent back and refitted as a 3.5 hes asking 2300.00 on that one.. just looking at gb completed auctions says he's asking the moon for the gun without box.

Keep looking around- that's half the fun. If you need to "settle" then find a Model 28 to tide you over.
