Is there a different value pricewise between the m28 no dash vs the m28-2 both are 6” barrels, both blue, in excellent condition.

I seen the m28’s at $695 while the m27-2 were $795 decades ago. Times have changed. I wish we had a price/ value chart to go by.

To answer your question, All things being equal with the two guns, finish, mechanics stocks etc., the no dash 28 will fetch more money than the -2 will. Simply there were less of them made and they are an older rendition.

If the 28 no dash is a 4 screw it makes a difference.

All Model 28s had four screw frames. So did the only known -1. The cylinder stop screw was eliminated with the -2.

I don't have my book in front of me but as I recall the -2 was in production for something like 20 years. So it is the most commonly encountered M28. People tend to pay more for older guns anyways, so add that to the fact that the HPs, 28 no dash, and 28-1 are more rare, and you easily account for the price differences.

Even amongst -2s, you will find that many of us prefer the earlier ones with the "S prefix" serial numbers. I'm not saying that is warranted, just that it's a preference.
