38 S&W Special OTG
Curious about this firearm. It’s has a 7.5” barrel is this considered 8” for a holster.I’ve never owned a revolver this long and do not want to carry it on my side.

Barrels are measured from the face of the cylinder to the muzzle of the barrel. Your revolver probably has an 8 3/8” barrel.

Barrel length is measured from the face of the cylinder to the muzzle. That said, a 1/2" extra in the holster shouldn't matter.

OTG might be Only for Tough Guys . . . or it could actually be CTG (shorthand for cartridge).
Measure barrel length from the front of the cylinder to the end of the barrel. (The front of the cylinder is the end closest to the sight on the end of the barrel).
7-1/2 is 7-1/2.
8 is 8.

Nice 14-3 or 14-4 there. Definitely a 8-3/8" barrel.
There aren't many K frame holsters for this barrel length out there, and most are 40+ years old.

If you post the ser.# here, someone will look it up for you. It's kinda what we do.

Probably 1981. 94K1110 is the S/N. The other number is likely an assembly number.
Target hammer, trigger, and grips...looks to be in nice shape except for the white paint or crayon filling. $700-$800 though the market for these long tube .38s isn't huge. Everyone wants the magnums and the .22s.

Well, you aren’t going to carry it inside the pants. A gun like this begs for a drop-leg holster, definitely a working ranch or special occasion carry piece. There also are “Dirty Harry” type shoulder holsters.
Most people would just bring it to the range in a pistol rug.

I own one just like it, only about ten years older. It'll fool you into thinking your a good shot at the range.

Remove the target grips, the serial number is on the frame butt, very easy to read.

I ordered a sot case for it and will keep it at my cabin to just shoot and possibly for predators

Revolver ammo is in short supply
Before I found .38 Special at Academy, I asked someone on a forum who mentioned he sold his last revolver, and bought at a fair price. I also traded .380 for .38 straight up with another guy.
