Trying to find date of manufacture K6962x is serial number on bottom of frame

It is a 4 screw

Something is a bit off here. The serial number you provided would be, most likely, from 1949. Given that, the gun would be a 5-screw, 4 in the sideplate and one in front of the trigger guard. The 4th screw on the sideplate would be underneath the right stock panel.
