Front sight on Smith and Wesson Model 15-4

I have owned a Model 15-4 since 1977. I made the terrible mistake of having it satin nickeled back in about 1989 and also had a red insert installed in the front sight blade. I have been thinking I really want to have the nickel striped and the gun re blued and have the front sight changed back to the factory condition. I didn't know if the front sight is pinned where it could be replaced or if I would have to change the barrel which i don't want to do. I would just keep the red insert. But I thought somebody on this group would know if this model has a pinned front sight blade. Serial number shows it was made in 1977.

They were pinned in place, although the pin is often hard to spot, especially when there's been another finish applied.
