Late 60s no dash 58. shooter grade
I picked this up with the non registered magnum. Excellent action. Looks matte or E nickel or maybe hard chrome. Not a collector grade gun but should be a nice field revolver in one of my favorite calibers.

Looks good in that finish. You said late '60s; is the SN a "S" or "N" prefix, we'll look up the age for you, unless you already know it closer than "late".
It's a great shooter, I really like mine, but the shorter barrel likes to jump. I also have a M57 with 6" and it's a bit easier to keep pointed.

I have a couple 4" 57s and a 6". I hunt with a Ruger Blackhawk in 41.

58
Hammer treatment looks a little like Jovino. Great action.

Very nice...someone built that 58 to work...
My two are about the same...one is a 64 that someone parkerized and the other a mint 70s vintage blue that was "customized", Mag-Na-Port Quad porting, polished trigger, bobbed hammer and oversize cylinder latch...but both shoot like a house a fire...
Have fun with that one...

Gary, Look at the stocks, they look rounded to my eyes. Someone wanted this as a serious working gun.
I have a real Jovino 58, and it looks similar, but got the Jovino 'EFFECTOR' rollmark on the barrel, along with a matte nickel finish (may be hard chrome?).
I would guess 1968 production.

Shooter 58
That's a beast. Nice finish whatever it is, no excuse for not shooting the snot out of it. One of my favorite calibers, load some 210 SWC's down to 850 fps or so and have at it. Repeat.

I like it, about as close to a stainless 58 as you can get. I went for a “walk about” on my rural property yesterday, with my 58 that was my duty weapon back in the late 70’s. My cast 210 SWC’s loaded over 8 gr. of Unique in the chambers.
Enjoy your new acquisition.

The grips have been rounded. Half *** job. I have other grips for it. I have had several Jovinos. Some marked Effector some not. All had hammer mod similar to this. However nothing else would suggeest it came from Jovino.

Love it. I’m curious what a letter would tell you.
