Default manufacture/ship year

Hi guys..My model 36-7 has serial number 459280 stamped on bottom of grip. No letters only those 6 numbers
Can anyone help me get the year of manufacture?
By the way its a 3" barrel and a GREAT shooter

That can’t be a “36-7”. The serial as you give it places the gun around 1966/67. I don’t think there even was a dash-1 yet at that time.

PS: So I checked the SCSW. The 36-1 was the 3” HB variant introduced in 1967. Are you maybe misreading the 1 as a 7? Then that’s what you have and it makes sense.

Must be a 36-1 Heavy Barrel if that's the correct serial number. It would have shipped, probably in Dec '66 or Jan '67.

The earliest one on my list is 456xxx, and it shipped in Sept '66.

ps: the 36-7 didn't come with a 3" barrel.

I originally thought it was a 36-1 thru the years but last time I cleaned it recently and opened the cylinder in a better light, it looked like a "36-7"
You guys are right it can't be a -7.
Thanks for your help and information.
I'm up there in age and can shoot this thing one handed at 15 yds and hit the black on the target. It's the gun -not me
