Default Blue or Nickel in a 27-2

Blue or Nickel in a 27-2
Which do you like?
Which brings a premium in the market?

I have one -- in nickel -- and I like it

I have 2 each , 3 1/2 " & 5 ",and a 3 1/2" from 1955 all 5 are blue. The mint condition 3 1/2 " nickel models seem to be priced highest from what I've seen at gun shows/ gun Broker.

I've had two nickel, a transitional 8 3/8" 27-2 and a really nice 6" 1968 "S" prefix 27-2 and I sold both of them.

I no longer have a nickel 27, just blue.

If you had two identical guns, one nickel one blue, I believe the nickel might bring in more money.

I've had both, but lean towards the nickel because I like shiny things. And it does seem to bring a premium.

I love both. For some personal reason, I really prefer blued on the long barreled Model 27's. I have a nickeled Model 29-2 , with a 4" barrel, and it is simply stunning.

I have both and like both. However, nothing beats the deep, high polished blue of a 27.

I've had several nickel revolvers in the past but never liked them as much as the blue. However, any kind of old Model 27 is worth having regardless of the finish. I don't buy guns with the thought of how much they will hold their value down the line. They are all shooters that I take very good care of. Presently all vintage Smith revolvers are getting more pricey every day. But in these times an old quality S&W revolver will probably increase in value for some time.

Nickel may be worth a bit more in the market place, don’t really know. I have one nickel 27-2 and six blue 27-2s. I prefer blue. Nickel is, maybe, more resistant to corrosion when spending a day out in the rain hunting but we all know how many nickel safe queens ever have a drop of water bead up on the Ren wax

I prefer blue over nickel on any handgun. Nickel is just too flashy. Stainless is fine, though.

I have one nickel gun, and 4 stainless. The rest are blue. My preference would be blue and waxed by Rubiranch

Default What!? No Pictures?

It should be a forum rule that all threads contain representative pictures. I'll start with the only 27 I own, a -2, in nickel.
I'm on the hunt for a blue 4" version (3 1/2 just looks wrong to me).
For the record, I prefer blue, but the price on this one was too good to pass up, and it really is a pretty handgun.

Have a 27-2, in the box with paperwork and just prefer blue . Personal choice, nothing more .
