Beautiful results!
I assume you used Flitz since it's on the bench...
Did you wax it as well? (I use both.)

Thank you.
Yep, I use both. They were made for each other.

I've used Flitz on a lot of older and newer S&W without any
problems. As in no blue on the microfiber cloth.
I would imagine though there are people out there who can ruin
just about anything.

i'd say your friend is getting great improvement on his guns! it's hard to believe pictures #1 and #6 were taken of the same gun. I try to shoot mine as often as possible so they don't get that level of detailed cleaning and polishing, but you just may have inspired me to up my game a little. Super job on that K38.

Now that I have my friends K-38 Masterpiece and his pre-27 cleaned I'll
take them back to him and get his 4" 66 so I can get it cleaned up too.

Thank you. They belonged to his father who recently passed away.
Its something I enjoy doing and I'm quite sure that his dad is pleased with them too.

He'd probably be just, if not more pleased, to know there are so many admirers of them after your fine detailed cleaning! Nice work! I'd enjoy seeing any and all of the guns you clean & photograph for display here.
It's easy to spot a labor of love.

Doesn't Flitz change the finish on a Model 66 or a similar SS gun from a satin finish to something closer to bright polish?

I'm sure it depends on just how aggressive you get with the polish.
I put a tiny dab on the end of my finger and lightly apply it to the surface
and wipe it off with a microfiber cloth.

I will look forward to seeing that, . I have no experience using polish or wax, just cleaners and conventional gun oil.
I own a Model 60 LS that was polished using Flitz (at least that is what I was told). It looks awesome, and I knew it had been polished when I bought it. I enjoy shooting it, but it does not look at all like the original finish. For that reason I was guessing that most people here would avoid using Flitz on SS guns that originally had satin or more matte finishes.
