Using Ammoseek as a way to track the market, prices for the ammo I buy (9mm and .223/5.56) have come down by ~$.10-$.15 per round in the last couple of months or so. (I'm not keeping an actual records of prices, so this is just my impression.)

Sportmans Warehouse had a bunch of 9mm today, all under $20/50
One LGS has it for $26/50 and another for $32/50
Saw some .357 for $39/50, X-tac 5.56 for $18/20.
It’s out there, just using Covid as an excuse for rapid inflation.

The smart money says that the shortage will be over August 18, 2022. Be there or be square.

My favorite shortage indicator has improved greatly. The days of $125 9mm carbide die sets on eBay are gone. Lots of sets at a fixed price of half that. Maybe it's getting better. It's a baby step at least.

Actually you can. Ships sailing towards the horizon would never disappear on a flat earth. Moon would never be a crescent shape.
Last time I took my muzzle loader to the range, I spent several hours and only shot about 20 rounds. Took my time and enjoyed it. I suppose with a muzzle loader, each shot is a mag dump, but I left with ammo to spare and had a good day.
There are two parts to the shortage-demand and supply. If you shoot less, your ammo lasts longer and supply is not a problem. Guns and shooting are a luxury item right now.

I was in a WM the other day. They had CCI 22 SV and CCI 22CB shorts. A woman was having a key made so I left or I would have got some.

Only two birthdays away! With a little luck I might make it! Leo's are optimists (amongst other things).

I’m seeing a slight relaxing in ammo prices, as well as some calibers popping up in new packaging.
9mm, .223, and .22lr have all made brief appearances on the shelves locally, before the locusts descend.

9mm Blazer Brass for $19 per 50 round box at Sportsmans Warehouse two days ago. They had quite a bit and were limiting it to 2 boxes per customer.
They also had American Eagle .44 Magnum JSP for $59 a box, which isn't that much more than it was pre-Chicken Little.
If everyone would take a breath and not reward the scalpers this silliness would end.

When supply catches up with demand - basically when the combination of events that came together simultaneously (Election Civil Unrest) driving skyrocketing demand while production (CV19 Driven Supply Chain Restriction) was limited resulting in panic buying resolve themselves it will be "over".

No shortage in my area. Plenty at the gun show and at a few LGS, as to price, still ridiculous.
