I liked the scene with John Lee Hooker playing on Maxwell Street. Can anyone name the guy playing harp in this scene?

Think it was Big Walter Horton playing with JLH. I understand that stretch of Maxwell Street is all history now.

S&W content: I estimate at least a dozen revolvers in that scene, but all appropriately hidden :Q

Nate’s, formerly at 807 W. Maxwell, was backdrop for a scene in “The Blues Brothers” where John Lee Hooker sings a soulful version of “Boom, Boom” smack in the middle of the street. He was backed up by musicians including Pinetop Perkins and Willie “Big Eyes” Smith. Muddy Waters was supposed to appear but was sick the day of shooting.

Jake: Car's got a lot of pickup.
Elwood: It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?
Jake: Fix the cigarette lighter.

I believe it was a 1974 Dodge Monaco

It was indeed, and all 13 (12?) of the cars they purchased for that movie were ex-CHP cars, which did indeed have the almighty 440, along with all those other cop goodies. One of them was specifically rigged to fall apart.

They called me and my buddy the Blues Brothers years ago. This was because of or style of “playing” lever action rifles when deer were jumped out of the thick stuff. When we played a tune the only thing left was to wake up the cook.

‘Rawhide!’ and ‘Stand By Your Man’ were their entire country music repertoire. Great film, great music, great cameos.
