Hello all,

I have a roughly 45 year old model 10-5 6-shot .38 revolver that the cylinder release button's screw likes to back out, leaving the release button loose.

Is it prudent to drop a little blue loctite on this screw, or does it need something more in depth?

This was my grandmother's nightstand gun and it is like new otherwise....

I don't see how it could hurt, just put a little on the threads, don't want to gunk up the internals.

saxdogg,

Welcome to the Forum.

I don't remember which LocTite is the least binding, but use that.

Make use and clean the threads on both parts first.

Welcome! DO NOT use red, that is stud and bearing mount. They actually make a green called Gun-Tite distributed by "Uncle Mikes", works great. Even the blue is too strong for small gun screws. And follow MG's cleaning instructions.

Use blue lock tite. You can even use clear finger nail polish.
