Default Recutting round to square butt conversion grips?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, if not, the mods can move it. Anyway, over the years I have collected a number of very nice round to square butt conversion grips, mostly Altamont. These are spares that I have replaced also.
Right now, I have two Model 15 square butts with ****** grips, can I recut these conversion grips for the square butts or is it too much trouble?

I don't want to be turning $70.00 grips into $10.00 grips..

All you need is a course file and a small hobby saw.

These started out life as Herrett checkered square butt K frame Targets. With some time & labor, turned them into round butt. Have converted a set of Altamont RB conversions into square butt. Was easy, and turned out good. If you have grips that just sit around why not make them suit you? {within reason, of course} Bob

I'd find a $20 set of "beat up" set of sq butt target grips..... take 3/8's off the bottom and round over the edge..... rechecker if necessary.... oil finish.

Did some of these in the 80s before I discovered Spegel Boot Grips
