Default 9/11 20 Years Later: A Special Smith & Wesson

I urge everyone to read this article about a very special Smith & Wesson Model 640-2.

9/11 20 Years Later: A Special Smith & Wesson | An Official Journal Of The NRA

If for some reason the link goes bad, I made a PDF of the article you can access at this link: A Special Smith & Wesson

We should never forget.

The term "Hero" get tossed around these days. 9/11 revealed the real thing.

I just yesterday finished reading the incredible research work by Lawrence Wright, The Looming Tower. He was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for that outstanding work.

In July I read The American War In Afghanistan, by Carter Malkasian. It just came out in June, and it is a great work for understanding both sides of the war.

I followed that with War, by Sebastian Junger.

It's another incredible account of the toughest battles of our Afghanistan war. It really gets the reader into the thoughts and minds of the soldiers.

Two things have prompted me to read these works. First, our exit from Afghanistan; and second, the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Every American should be informed of the events, doctrines, and ideologies that underlie our war on terror.

This departs somewhat from the original post. For that, I apologize. I don't want this to become a political discussion.

I have a deep appreciation for the many people who watch over us to keep us from harm or to help us when harm strikes. Many are members of this forum, and I thank you.

Thanks for sharing. Good to know these pieces of history are with the NRA for safekeeping.
