Default Model 64-4 2" prices

Looking at a model 64-4 2". I would rate it 90% +. Not in the original box. What is the going price for these? Are these pretty rare? Not sure,I've seen one before.

Default 64-2

I bought one about 3 weeks ago with Altamont grips, bobbed hammer and super trigger job at my LGS for $500. I have not shot it, it is a shooter, no box, papers or tool.

Default Model 64-4 2" prices

I bought a 64-4 2” about 3-4 years ago for right at $300 OTD,. Great shooter, my wife loves it and claims it as hers. The -4 came with factory bobbed forged DAO hammer and trigger. Prices have really gone up. I bought it at J & G Sales.

I wouldn’t say they’re rare but as with everything else prices have really climbed. Check the completed auctions on gb and be prepared to put your eyeballs back in their sockets.

Snub nosed K frame shooters are routinely worth at least $450 to $550 in today's market. I got that kind of money last year for all of the ones that I sold and every one was stained from water/foam that got into my safe from fire hoses - which explains why I sold that pretty cool collection. Anything less for a good shooter is a good deal and anything more, reasonably more, wouldn't surprise me terribly.

Ahhhhh.....just because it hurt so much.....here's most of the collection - but I did retain the M10 with bonded ivory stocks (now replaced because the heat got to them and they discolored) and the Cerakoted/black, customized M64 below that M10 - those two will go to my heirs:

My dad picked up this 64-4 this morning if it is the one on TGT.

Few very small scratches but in really nice condition. Double action is super smooth on it. Kicking myself for telling my dad about it.

I had been looking to buy a cobra when this puppy came by. A 64-4 2" NY-1. I paid $600 for it. Which, was less than I would have paid here for a cobra I think. I liked that they were small 6 bangers and its my first one. (2" K).

I don't know really all the models or the rarity of some of the models. I have to admit, I didn't know what a NY-1 model was. If it wasn't for this forum , asking questions, basically that's how I knew. And learned about the history of these models.
My friend at my local gun store called me and said, "Hey Lou! I got a model 64 snub here you might like. And its a new York gun. "
Again. I didn't know anything about them. Kinda just, the model fell on my laps.
I purchased it at my LGS , thats about 15 minutes away.
I clearly wasn't looking for it. But I'm so glad to have it.
How it made it to the west coast? I have no clue........
