Default Mod. 64 2" No Dash

I acquired a S&W Mod 64 No Dash 2" Round Butt revolver. Serial number is 1D3XXX. I would appreciate any information anyone would have to share.

Hello, Nurse! (Always wanted to say that for some reason.... )
Anyway, enough cheap humor. Welcome to the Forum. I hope you'll stick around and give us your opinions on your Smith & Wesson. Or anything else, for that matter, on the thoughtfully-provided Lounge page. In return, the folks here are probably more knowledgeable about firearms in general and S&W in particular than anyplace else on the internet. And since a few old factory guys are here, we get some interesting info, too.

Looks like your gun is 1976 vintage. According to the Bible of S&W, the Standard Catalog of S&W 4th Edition, serial numbers 1D1 to 1D30000 were shipped in 1976-1977; as a 4-digit after the "D", I'd expect yours to be from the first of those years.
If you're so inclined, we love photos of folks' guns around here, so you're more than welcome to post some.

A hearty welcome to the forum from the AZ. Glad to have you aboard and we would love to see some photos of that stainless snubbie.

Very Nice. I have one I bought new in 1976. 1D43XX. Carried for years as LEO. Would never part with it. Holster was handmade by a fellow cop and used all these years. Great concealed carry piece with a good pancake holster.
