Gold Engraved Model 36
I wanted a gold J frame with cattle branding to go along with a Ruger Vaquero cattle branding engraved by the late Bob Valade.
Jeff Flannery had a nice M36 no dash with box waiting for a project.
Here is the result.

Pimpzilla!!!
Wow, that's like a cross between a NYC pimp and the boss of a drug cartel!!!
Just kidding. A little. Seriously, that is some beautiful work. Not something I see very often. I'd be displaying that on the mantle in a glass case instead of ever shooting it.
Congrats and enjoy your new 36!

Wow, I gotta give you credit for unique.
I live in cattle country and would not have thought to use brands. Very nicely done.
I have to ask, are they real, "registered" brands?

Yes, registered brands.
I wanted my initials as one brand and he found a CS brand.

Very nice, Chris! Stunning and unique. Please post a group or family shot. I know that you have several that would make a nice grouping. Good to see you again on the forum!

Hi John,
I am having professional photos taken soon and will post them then.
I am also waiting for letters on two bright, engraved J frames and one bright engraved K frame. Any time now.

More gold is always the best answer to a question that is never asked.

You will certainly be the center of attention at any Bar-B-Que where you show up with that one. But I guess you’re used to that already with that SAA, aren’t you? I could never afford (nor likely want) to have one done like that, but I can sure admire yours from afar!

My dad was career submarine navy 43-73 retiring as a LCDR(LDO).
We were in Groton when I graduated from high school. Dad had just left for Mississippi to NEWCON Canopus.
That summer I went to work at EB.
One day I'm in the NAV Center of the future 640 talking with some of the ships company ET's and decided I would rather be doing what they were doing.
Shortly after I was off to boot camp and the Polaris pipeline.
Good memories.
TY, Chief.

What you need now is a 1911 engraved in a similar pattern.

Dang, Danny, you're mighty perceptive.
I need a lame steer as the sacrificial "lamb?".
Seven big ranchers down in the valley have BLM leases for grazing their herds up here in the summer. Open Range -- cows wander through town from May till about now.
csurp34's project sure got me to thinking about using the 7 local brands as the backdrop on the side plate of a Bodyguard. Just dreamin' for now.

I saw that movie, didn’t work out so well for Duvall and Costner…or to quote Kevin Bacon, “How many cows are required for a stampede Earl?”
All kidding aside, a Pinto with the brands, Wow!
