I saw one for sale for $495. Is that a good price? It's a 4", IDK if it's round or square butt. Thanks.

I was in several gun stores today and if I had seen that I'd have bought 2 if they had them.

I just bought a 10-5 in excellent condition for $400 without box and papers. I thought that was a good deal. So with original box and papers that would come home with me. Don’t wait to long or it will be gone.
Gun price’s today are going up. Worn out stuff on Gunbroker is bringing some ridiculous prices.

Thanks. I will follow up. I don't really care about the box and papers.

A good price, max503. Grab it! Don't downplay the box, etc. Those add value and will continue to do so.
I don't want to say how much I paid for this one about 7 years ago. I'd just get beat up here, considering today's inflated prices!

My guess would be 1968 when the D numbers started. I have a 2" 10-5RB # D138.
The top was 1968 also. I think I sold that for 550

1967~68.
D series started with D1 in 1967 (SCSW 4th edition, page 204)

I recently sold an excellent condition 4" Model 10-8 with box, tools, papers for $450 as I walked into a local gun show...so I think it's a great buy if you like Model 10s.
