Default 10-7 RHKP value

I can get this from a friend for 450. RHKP and four digit number on backstrap. Looks better than pic would indicate. Good price?

Today it may be a fair deal, if the HK connection is special to you.

I paid $400 for mine that looks a little worse than yours.
I bought it for its coolness factor.

To be honest, it seems to me that pre lock Smiths are a dwindling resource. I have a 10-3 nickel HB I gave about five hundred for last Summer, and nary a regret. I realize this may be regional, but older Smith revolvers just aren't all over the place like they used to be ......idk...
I do like the lanyard ring on the RHKP.....😊

Any police collector would buy it at that price without hesitation.

As a basic used 10-7 shooter, these days 450 for this condition (or slightly better, as you indicate) isn‘t a steal, but still acceptable.

I sold one in recent months for $600 that appeared unused by its issuant*...It was marked on the backstrap with RHKP and the number, and had the lanyard ring......Ben

* yes, I repurposed that word...

I had one years ago that was practically new. The HKPD had just issued new 6 guns and then decided to go to 9mm's. So the issued S&W's were turned in. There was a guy here on this forum or maybe on the High Road that bought one and also collected all the badges and a hat that a HK Policeman would have to go with it. There were Colt revolvers too.

Around here in Missouri at the local gunshops just about any pre lock Smith in "shooter" condition gets tagged at $650-700 and does not hang around more than a couple of days. Lot different than the old days for sure, but it is the new average price now matter how much I fight it!

Ok, I went for it. To my surprise, it came with 2 boxes of LRN reloads, a box of jsp, and a box and a half of jhp. I did the dance of joy.....
