Two ways: working on my PC ( Mac) I usually upload my pics on a website as Postimage: there I generate a link , then I copy it on my post.
A second way is to create an attachment from the window that appears under the box where you are typing : "Manage attachment": then you can upload your pics and they will appear as thumbnails

I use the tapatalk app. You can download it on your smart phone. Makes sending pictures super easy.
On purpose. I did a screen shot. If you notice on the screen shot, above the keyboard, you see that photos, files and + sign. You push it and it goes to your gallery of pics , then you click which ones you want. Voila! Say a few words if you want and your done.
I too was tearing out what precious few of my hairs were remaining. But I got some help, and I'll pass it on. Go to the Forum Office, select the thread entitled 'Photos', scroll down to the post by JJEH. He clearly and succinctly described how to post photos, and it works. Good luck.
