Default Small mark inside frame of new 10-7

Just bought a NOS 10-7 snub. Everything on it is pristine.

When cleaning it, I noticed a small mark inside the frame. It looks like a punch mark. The gun is factory new condition otherwise.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

This has come up before and a lot of my 10s and M&Ps have it, I guessed some sort of assembly jig mark.

Thanks very much for the info.

I’m glad you can confirm that other guns have this mark.

It looks intentional, almost like a punch was applied after the bluing.

I won’t worry about it anymore.

Thanks

Could be from conducting a random hardness test for quality control. The hardness tool uses a diamond to check hardness of steel.
