Custom 25-2 Letter Arrives
Thank you SWHF/ Don Mundell. This Jovino conversion was shipped to Jonas Arms & Aircraft, Wall St., NY, NY then sent to John Jovino for the work. I knew there were a couple other gunsmiths in the country who did similar work and was hoping mine was done in John's shop, the most notable of those doing this. Mine shoots great and is one that probably be with me until I cash in my chips.
It started out as a blue 6" SB, w/ patridge front sight.
Mr. Mundell added several very interesting comments on the Model of 1955/Model 25 as well. It is much appreciated, and now I want to buy his book.

Both of those conversions are beautiful!
nate-dogg,
Too bad the Combat grips don't fit your N frame conversion properly at the knuckle.
There is a difference between the original ‘N frame’ grip frame top size on RB grip frames of the 3” Models 24-3 and 624, and the later ‘N frame’ RB grip frame top size. RB frames introduced after the 1995-96 change orders are a different ‘N frame’ RB grip frame top size WHICH IS the same as the K/L frame grip top size.
1. The earliest RB N frames have 'true N size’ RB grip frames which have N frame size tops. The lower butt size of all N frame rd butts is the same as the K/L RBs. These stocks will correctly fit the N frame knuckle behind the hammer and are the correct width across the medallion area, of N frames with square butt grip frames. This grip frame shape was used on the 3" Models 24-3 and 624 as well as a few other earlier RB N frames like the limited production "Heritage" Model 44 Spl (with rib-less barrel) which also had RB grips of true N frame size.

Looking at both of the short barreled revolvers, the pin to hold the ejector rod bolt is no longer there. Has the bolt itself also been removed? If so, has an other locking system been employed to hold the yoke to the frame?

Hondo44’s information on Model 24-3 and 624 grip sizes sent me scrambling to check mine. To my relief the original factory combats fit properly. This is something I will henceforth check when contemplating a round butt N purchase. Thank you Hondo44.

They typically have a ball detent installed in the yoke area, similar to today's Model 69.

The ones in the picture are just some K frame round combats that I had extra. He had the butt changed to round K butt. I also have the original Pachmayr compac rubber grips that came on it from Jovino.

That is correct. Interesting substitute for a forward lock-up.
