Model 66 2.5" pinned and recessed -- value?
I am looking at a model 66 in very good condition. It has magna stocks, a 2.5" pinned barrel and has recessed cylinder chambers. It also has the factory box, papers and tools. Can anyone familiar with the market advise me on this gun's value? Thank you for your help.

I sold one recently, without the box, and it brought over four figures easily.
Good luck!

Unfortunately that configuration seems to always be 4 figures these days. I have a -1 with no box that I would not sell for $1,000. I like shooting it and couldn't replace it for that, without a lot of good luck or a real good friend.

I would also say $1200.00 if it is in the condition stated with box tools and papers

North of $1200, depending on condition I have seen them go for $1500.

I have an unfired 66-1 with with 2.5" factory box and all papers. I have a standing offer of $1500 and turned it down. I wouldn't hesitate to pay $1200 for another one with box, papers, etc.

Gee, 2 1/2 barrel P&R Model 66 with box, papers, and tools? These days, you would be hard pressed to get such a thing for $1000, especially in California. I'd say you are probably in the neighborhood of $1200-$1500 there in California.

It's hard to find anything nicer for discreet carry, and the dash ones are way preferred as being the last of the pinned and recessed examples. This one is mine, purchased years ago when they were semi-affordable. I retain the original box, stocks, papers and tools, but I love the feel, concealability and looks of the Ahrends stocks.

I bought a -1 from a former co-worker many years ago with box, tools etc. Back then I paid under $400. Recently he asked to buy it back. He’s not really up to speed on how these things have appreciated. I told him the current value is around a grand but since he is a friend I offered to sell it to him for $800, even though I have no desire to sell it. He passed.
