Help with my 29-2
Hey all...doing something I dont want to do...but unfortunately...need a procedure done, and turning to my gun safe to cover the costs.
I have a model 29-2 I purchased over a decade ago. Ive never fired it, and the previous owner said he never fired it. Its in mint condition, with only minor blue wear around the muzzle where the felt from the presentation case rested.
I bought it because it was the "dirty harry gun", and since then its never seen the light of day. Could someone help me with what Ive got, as time is of the essence, and prices seem to range from $1500-$3500
Gun comes with presentation case.

You could list it on the Classified section of the Forum. Probably would go quickly around $1500 (good pictures help). Perhaps more on an auction site but there are fees and various issues for a new seller. Good luck, with both the sale and the procedure.

Shouldn't take much time to sell it, M29's go pretty fast. Give us some more details; the barrel looks to be a 6-1/2", so it would date to 1979 or earlier. What is the SN, just the letter and first 3 digits and we can date it within a year or so. Do you have the box, accessories and any paperwork? Those will help with the price. It's easily worth $1100-$1200 if in good mechanical condition with no visible damage (bluing wear is not considered damage, gouges, scratches and rust are).
Edit: Oops, didn't notice the picture with the SN showing. I don't have my SCSW handy, but I believe it's somewhere around 1977-78, it is a lower number than my M29-2, which is a July 1979 vintage.

If it’s in that condition, $1500 would be a fair asking price.
If it was in the box with papers, $2000 would not be far off.

Yeah, I'm in the camp of $1500 for the revolver alone. With case, papers and box, you are in the neighborhood of $2000.

Sorry for your troubles. I think it would go fairly quickly at $2K in the current market. Be well .
