SCSW Appendix B
LOL! Serial number listings are in the back of the SCSW 4th Edition, Appendix B, pages 485-494. Your K-frame ("K Serial Prefix by Year, Postwar") s/n can be found on Page 489 on the left side of the page. As you have discovered, there is also a lot of s/n and dating information in the text sections for each S&W model, especially the more rare and collectible versions. Hope this helps for dating future additions to your growing collection!
