Lack of patience....
Young friend came over the other day to show me a gun...turned out to be a 1965 Model 19-2 blue with 4" barrel in very nice condition...
Seems that an older friend of his who has owned nothing but semi-autos, wanted his first revolver and picked this up locally for $650... BUT when he went to shoot it after placing rounds in the chambers, it closed hard and would not cycle. He got so irritated he told my friend he could have it for $200 rather than bring it back to the store...
In looking at it, all it is a minor headspace problem. The cylinder gap is a little wide and once the cylinder is moved forward a few thousandths all will be fine... So it is going to my Smith smith shortly and will probably be $25 to fix...

Well, the semi-auto guy proved to himself that revolvers are not a good design. Glad he got that urge out of his system and put the world back in it's proper balance.

Lack of patience is right.
There's so very many instances of this in life. Certainly just not with guns. Had a friend who ran a trash dump and he said it was amazing what people would just throw away! Most always it was a very simple fix. ....

My grandfather used to drive around the nicer neighborhoods in Hartford back in the 50s through 80s on trash night... One time he found a Bissell Electric Broom in front of a nice house...once home sure enough it would run fine...but not pick up any dirt...because no one bothered to read the instructions on emptying the dust cup with full...he gave it to my girlfriend for her apartment...

When I lived in Austin my favorite nighttime activity was cruising the 'hood just before dawn on "big pick-up" day by the local contracted trash haulers. Can't describe how much valuable and sometimes unused "stuff" I'd come home with that affluent folks were just throwing away.
My wife and I would make bets sometimes how long a worn-out lawnmower or dryer would sit on a nearby curb. Sometimes it was gone in seconds; a real piece of junk might last and hour.
