Thank you. I didn’t think the -6 came out until a few years later.

1962, last I checked. I have a 10-6 from 1966.

The Models 10-5 and 10-6 were both introduced in 1962, and built concurrently until 1977. The -5 had the standard (tapered) barrel and the -6 had the heavy barrel. They were replaced by the 10-7 and 10-8, respectively.

Thank you, Bible, Drum and JP, for the help.

The action is wonderful. A smooth as glass double action pull at 7# 6oz. It was reblued at one point. For the ubiquitousness of the model 10 in law enforcement, I wasn’t expecting such a well balanced feel, or the action. I understand the attraction and popularity now of K frames, and specifically the M10.

I had my choice of 6 model 10’s. There is a 10-10 round but with an equally smooth action I may return for, or a pristine model 27, although it seems a bit pricey at $1100.

My M10 is wearing some Hogue grips. Anyone know of a decent source for magnas?
