Spent a great time at the range running some ammo through the 19-3 Texas Ranger Commemorative and of course had to check out the used gun case at the range/shop. Ran into another member that's also a fan of S&Ws. I was looking at one of the case, he was at the other.

I look over and see him handling a 4" 66-1 in really nice shape. I immediately ran around to his side and he just smiled. He had already committed to 3 other purchases. I looked at the price tag-$499!!! I said if he was going to get it I was LOL. He added it to his 4473.

That's really alright as I recently sold one that truth be told was in even nicer shape, had the football grips whereas this one has the speedloader. Going by the serial number is was at the end of the run, still p&r.

Oh well, I probably would've gotten it home and then said "why in the wide wide world of sports (movie quote reference ) did I buy this!".

I know at some time I'll get to shoot it and besides the 19-3 is an amazing shooter.

Oof, that's a great buy in today's market. I might have done a bit of shameless begging had I been in your shoes

Needed or not, I’d take a truckload of 4” p&r 66’s for $500

Well I guess it was only fair as last year the same thing happened except in reverse. The shop had just put out a 586 no dash for a great price that I was looking at as this gentleman walked in. He said if I wasn't going to get it he would lol. So turnabout is fair play.
