Default Model 15-3, can it take it?

Just got a 15-3 K frame. Can it handle the 38 Special +P?

Yes. You can wear out anything but a plus p won’t do it any harm. Practice with mostly regular and it will outlast you!

Absolutely can withstand +P ammo. Any S&W steel K-frame that has a model number stamped into the yoke recess is completely safe with +P ammo.

I carried a 4” Model 15 as my issued weapon for years & lots of +P off duty practice, never a problem. Hope this helps . . . .
