I recently bought a Smith M29-5 Classic Magnum II. It has a full lug 7 1/2" barrel, unfluted recessed cylinder, RR front sight. BFF prefix. Does anyone have a production date and relative value for it? It is basically unfired, no box, slight wear marks from carpeted safe.

I bought it to shoot, do not do safe queens, but the more I look at it, the odder it gets, especially the 7 1/2" barrel.

It was made for Accusport in 1989.
Nice find, congrats.
I'd suggest removing the grips to see if there is any rust from where they contact the frame.
There were 500 of those made.
The 7.5" barrel isn't seen very often on the modern guns outside of the performance center.
The 29-5 Magna Classic, Classic Magnum II and the model "The Attack" from the series of twelve revolvers are 3 of maybe 4 or 5 models make in blue.

have the very same gun with tall patridge front sight. mine shoots great. i would shoot it myself, but i don't own guns i can't shoot. after all, that's what they were made for.my main load for mine is a 240swc at 900fps.no recoil, not much noise, very pleasant and accurate.
