S229811, a 29-1 shipped 6/27/1962. The long tubed 29-1s are not that common, but neither is the 29-1 in any barrel length, come to think of it
Happy Easter

Chuck,
What is the breakdown on -1 barrel lengths that are known?
That's a beauty.

Morning Lee, it's always good to see the boss at work minding the shop Here's the breakdown I have of the 24 total 29-1s I have recorded serial numbers on.
4"- 3 guns-(2) 4 screw nickel and (1) 3 screw blue.
5"- 2 guns, both blue
6 1/2"-13 guns all blue
8 3/8ths" - 6 guns all blue.
The one of a kind so far is the 3 screw 4" blue gun.

I'm usually cammied up and hidin' in the bushes... I need to get back in the gun forums more. The Lounge will drive you crazy- if you aren't already.
THANKS for the breakdown.

Add one more 6 1/2 inch blue gun. That now makes 25.

Curtis, duel?, hardly. Besides, I don't pick fights I can't win. I only post when I have the time to do so which isn't all that often actually. I had a long weekend so thought I'd share a few of my guns with you folks. I post what I think will interest the members here without regard to other's postings. I enjoy any and all input here on S&Ws and have been a member on this forum for quite a few years now. It's the one thing that keeps me logging in; other folk's pictures of their guns and new discoveries. I hope this will continue.
Chuck

Chuck
I was just joshing you. Please don't let my sometimes weak attempt at humor to offend you.
I always enjoy your posts...especially the ones with so much documentation. I really enjoyed reading the Keith letter in your 5" thread, and it was the thread on the original ammo that pushed me over the edge to join the SWCA of which you signed my letter for me.
Its people like you and Doc that got me back into this thing with both feet.
I eagerly await each and every one of your post, and am always thrilled when you post a reply in any of my threads.

Curtis, no offense taken at all. While it may appear at times I suppose that Bill and I may be getting into a pissing contest with these guns/postings, that would be a gross misperception. Bill's got a one of a kind collection that actually, he's just scratched the surface of in his postings. I think he just doesn't want to overwhelm you guys/gals with his really good stuff Collectors all have different interests and mine are more toward the provenance of any particular gun if it can be found, than the gun itself. That's why I get into the long winded/picture heavy posts. But, that's the historian coming out in me more than anything else. I figure if folks don't want to plow through it all they can put me on their ignore list. But, I am proud of the fact that I've drawn several fine new members such as yourself into the S&WCA fold because of my postings, and therfore the time and trouble it takes to take the pictures and make the posts have been well worth the effort. As Roy always ends his notes, "hope this helps."
Chuck

I've never felt like the two of you were getting into a hydrant marking contest. It has always seemed to me, that two guys who have been fortunate enough to assemble some awesome collections, are kind enough to share their guns and wisdom with us less learned types. I really appreciate it! I know I'll never have any of the great guns pictured here, so I enjoy the heck out of seeing yours, and reading all about their history. I have learned quite a bit on this forum, but compared to most guys here, I'm still extremely wet behind the ears.
You guys keep 'em coming, and I'll keep enjoying 'em.
